Are you using more AWS resources than required? Do you have unused or under-used resources? With a variety of resources being launched on your AWS cloud infrastructure on a daily basis, it is inevitable that there would be some resources that are left unused or under-used. Botmetric’s thorough AWS cloud cost audit helps you scan your AWS cloud infrastructure and alert you on unused resources. You can get rid of those resources and save cost.
Here are all the AWS cost optimization checks that Botmetric performs, which helps you save your cloud infrastructure cost:
Botmetric lists all the AWS EBS Snapshots that are very old. You can reduce the cost by removing very old snapshots which you might not need anymore. By default, 90 days old snapshots are considered to be old by Botmetric, you can customize this.
Unused Elastic IP
Botmetric lists all the AWS Elastic IPs that are unused or attached to stopped instance. Elastic IP addresses on AWS will cost you money if they are unused. Botmetric can detect unused IP addresses across your regions and provide a one-click button to release unused IP addresses.
Botmetric provides a list of Amazon EC2 instances which have been running for more than 225 days non stop. Reserving these instances would help you to reduce the overall cost.
ELBs are not cheap and often, customers don’t realize this until they have accrued a significant cost. Botmetric lists all Elastic Load Balancers that are unused. Removing unused ELBs can reduce the cost. You can remove them right from Botmetric itself using Botmeric’s cloud automation.
Botmetric provides a list of all the AWS EBS Volumes that are unused. Removing unused volumes can reduce the cost. You can remove them right from Botmetric itself using Botmeric’s cloud automation.

Low CPU Utilization EC2 Instances
Botmetric provides a list of the Amazon EC2 Instances that has less than 10% daily average CPU utilization on at least 4 of the previous 14 days. It is recommended for you to change the instance type of these instances to have lesser configuration that ultimately results in cost savings.
Under Utilized EBS Volumes
Botmetric provides the list of the AWS EBS Volumes that are unattached or has less than 1 IOPS per day for the past 7 days.
Botmetric provides the list of all the DB instances that has not had a connection for a prolonged period of time, you can shut down those instances to reduce costs. It is recommended that if RDS DB is idle for 7 or more days you can take DB snapshot and delete it.
